Governor Ron Desantis announced that this year will have longest Red Snapper season in history. The Florida Red Snapper season begins June 17, 2022. Regulations for Florida's Red Snapper Season are subject to change each year based on various conditions.
"Snapper season is one of the most exciting times to be fishing in Florida, and I am excited to announce the longest season since the state took over management of red snapper,” said Governor Ron DeSantis.
“People travel from all over to enjoy the recreational opportunities we have in Florida that can’t be found anywhere else. Florida is proud to continue providing access and opportunities to all who want to experience the Fishing Capital of the World.”
The summer season for federally permitted for-hire charter vessels (fishing in federal Gulf waters) will begin on June 1, 2022, and close on August 19, 2022.
Recreational fishing season begins June 17, and closes July 31.
